Our Indonesia holidays visit the remote eastern Spice Islands, as well as Kalimantan Borneo and the Indonesian territory of Papua New Guinea.
Indonesia is an archipelago made up by thousands of islands. It encompasses 34 provinces, with an estimated total population of over 252 million people. Despite this large population and densely populated regions, Indonesia has vast areas of wilderness that support the world's second highest level of biodiversity.
New Guinea is the second largest island in the world after Greenland and is split, politically, into two halves. The western half of the island comprises two Indonesian provinces; Papua and West Papua. The eastern half forms the mainland of the country of Papua New Guinea.
