Solar Eclipse Tours

We have traditionally designed specifically adventurous experiences around the time of a total solar eclipse, aiming to be on the line of totality at an optimum location but without the crowds and hopefully enjoying the unique event as part of a journey. Previously we undertook a camel expedition in northern Niger, a jeep expedition in the Mongolian Altai, a mini-polar sled hailing expedition on Svalbard and sharing the eclipse with a fishing village on an Indonesian island. In each case we enjoyed solitude and the excitement of very different forms of travel, and in each case we had exceptionally clear weather with all the special features of being in a desert, on ice, by a lake surrounded by the Tien Shan Mountains and on a beach by the sea.

We don’t opt for locations which are already very accessible and will be visited by lots of people, the creativity comes in designing a journey which is adventurous and locating the right point exactly on the line of totality.
