Tailor Made Borneo Wildlife Tours
Borneo has so much to offer and we specialize in creating a special itinerary depending on your interests and dates. Contact us to discuss your holiday and we will provide knowledge and ideas and logistics to curate an itinerary and then make all the bookings for you.
Overview
Borneo has so much to offer with an overwhelming choice of places to see and things to do, and often visitors want to create their own itinerary based on some quite specific preferences.
A family holiday that takes children into account, photographers looking for specific species to capture on film, school groups looking for some wildlife conservation work, and so on. There are also many variations on comfort levels from basic riverside platforms to five star jungle lodges. Then again, if someone wants to see orangutans in the wild instead of in a sanctuary, where to go? Or what is the best time of year to see turtles hatching on the islands?
There are many options and variations, and it takes a very knowledgeable team to curate the best possible itinerary. We started Adventure Alternative Borneo with precisely this in mind and avoid the standard packaged tours.

Our Borneo Wildlife Tours
Over many years we have built up a great team of wildlife guides, birding guides and support staff to help run our wildlife holidays in Borneo, and we’re very proud of how the company began with a small team and has become a really sustainable and enjoyable outfit to work with. Some of our guides have been with us for many years and are very well known in the lodges of the many reserves that you can find in Borneo.

Ready for an Adventure in Borneo?
The ‘fixed itineraries’ below indicate trips that have already been agreed and booked. Please do not book onto these unless you are a member of this group.
Below that is ‘private itineraries’ which is the starting point to contact us with your ideas for what you would like to do and we can start to build a programme. When everything is agreed we put up the booking in ‘fixed itineraries’ which then allows you to make a booking.
The minimum deposit for any trip is £200.00 per person, but in Borneo we are required to pay significant deposits to hold rooms in most of the lodges, so we often ask for a higher deposit.
Our quotes do not generally include internal flights, but you can request that these be added or you can buy them yourselves. In Sabah and Sarawak the two main options for internal flights are MASWings and Air Asia. Most visitors fly into Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and then get a connection to either Sandakan or Kota Kinabalu for Sabah, and Mulu or Kuching for Sarawak.
