A new destination to the Sierra Nevada in southern Spain beckons. What a beautiful place and a lovely hotel we found... in a small village called Mairena. This is on our list of new places to visit and we plan to offer two trips here initially. The pace of life, the food, the culture and the beauty of this area really attracted us, and because of the economic crisis we know that the tourist dollar really does make a difference to these communities.

Traverse of the Sierra Nevada - a week long trekking holiday combining 5 days hiking along the high tops of this range, followed by 2 nights in a boutique hotel discovering the history and culture of this beautiful area, and enjoying fine food. We will run the first trip there on 1st July, with others at the end of July and then in September.

Winter in the Alpujarra - a week long trip based in the boutique hotel in Mairena, learning how to cross country ski and snowshoe, and with a unique opportunity to go dog mushing in the mountains. Family-friendly and perfect for a fun and active getaway during the winter, great food and wine, this holiday will be in January and February.

We also have two other Spanish options for you being the Picos de Europa Trek and the seven day Quixote Safari which explores the wildlife, history and culture of Castilla-La Mancha that is very much alive today in the national parks, the ancient fortified cities, and the food and wine of this region.

We hope that holidaymakers will choose this place to visit, it's easy to get to from Malaga airport.
