Accommodation in Kathmandu Guest House

For almost a decade Pasang Sherpa and his family have welcomed trekkers, climbers, volunteers, medical students and travellers to the Adventure Alternative guest house in Kathmandu where you can get quality home cooking, a warm welcome and great company in a secure environment with easy access to the likes of Thamel District, airport, local amenities, etc.

Most people only spend a few days here at most before heading up to the mountains to start organised treks or climbs but we do also accommodate longer stays in the capital, particularly for Medical Students who spend a minimum of 4 weeks on their Elective in one of the hospitals in Kathmandu.

The guest house has a total of 4 rooms of varying sizes which are all named after popular mountains and trekking locations in Nepal. We have the 'Mount Everest' room, the 'Yala Peak' room, the 'Upper Mustang' room and the 'Gokyo Lakes' room. The roof-top terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the view across the bustling city and the large garden is great place to relax.

As you can see from the photo the garden can also be turned in to a camping area for larger groups and teams who prefer to be out of the city centre, as it is located in the suburbs to the north east of Kathmandu, in an area called Bansbari.
