Caucasus Mountain Range

The Caucasus mountains stretch over 1000km across from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea forming the border between Russia and Georgia & Azebaijan. The high peaks extend to over 5000m and are permanently glaciated and offer winter mountaineering right through the summer months. The range's most famous climb is Mount Elbrus, Europe's highest peak, normally tackled in July and August.
