Kilimanjaro

There were no complaints with the food, we were actually disappointed cause we were expecting some dose of something that would help get rid of some of the wedding excess but I think we just added to it! The climb and the safari staff were excellent. So thanks for a great trip we were delighted to get to the top!!

I am writing to say how much Kay and I enjoyed our trip to Tanzania. We are very pleased to have reached the summit of Kilimanjaro and very much appreciate the excellent organisation which enabled the climb to go smoothly and successfully. Medical Electives

I would like to say thank you to all of the adventure alternative team for the opportunity of experience that you gave me. I thoroughly enjoyed my elective both inside and outside of the hospital and was very impressed with the support network that was in place in Kenya. Samson, Rosie, Osman and the rest of the AA team in Kenya were very helpful and above all very friendly. That makes such a difference to a lot of people when travelling to an unfamiliar country alone. I would also like to say congratulations to all the amazing work that AA and MM has done in the past and are still doing. Keep it up!

I would definitely recommend this to others. I got to see and do so much. There is only one doctor on duty for the hospital at any time and this allowed me to take an active part in the management of patients but with the backup available if I needed it. I was able to do my own ward rounds and clinics and I was taught to do lumbar punctures and to deliver babies! The clinical presentations are amazing and there was plenty of tropical medicine to see. Adventure Alternative staff looked after me the entire time I was in Kenya and made sure I was safe even when travelling at the weekends and provided good accommodation with other elective students and teachers. I had an amazing elective experience!

Moving Mountains Volunteer project work

I just wanted to thank you for making my experience in Kenya possible. I had an awesome time!! With the help of the fantastic staff, I felt extremely chuffed that I had made such a contribution to the completion and near to opening of the orphanage in Siaya. A big step!!
