Adventure Alternative staff

We pride ourselves on having excellent staff and team leaders around - that's why our trips are so popular! In each country we have a comprehensive set-up of suitably qualified and experienced people who have proven their skills and ability in the field. We do not rely on new staff each year, our western staff have been with us for many years.

United Kingdom & Ireland

	Gavin Bate Director of Adventure Alternative, organises and leads most trips. Founder of Moving Mountains. See Gavin's climbing CV here...		Chris Little Expedition co-ordinator and leader, works from Northern Ireland. Trustee of Moving Mountains. Organises all trips, and works on central office management.
	Helena Ventham Expedition leader and staff nurse, handles all medical electives and is a Trustee of Moving Mountains.		Steve Pinfield Mountain leader - runs our trips in South America and Borneo.
	Andy McDonald Expedition leader and office manager based in N Ireland and Kenya. Looks after all trip bookings and logistics and is a Trustee of Moving Mountains.		Rosie Crennell Rosie works from our Portsewart office and looks after all the accounts, and manages client finances.

Kenya

	Kelly Kioko Director of Africampers Tours & Safaris, our subsidiary company in Kenya. Qualified tour guide. Also Trustee of Moving Mountains Kenya. Manages all programmes and staff in Kenya.		Eva Muronji Operational manager for all trips, assistant to Kelly Kioko, safari cook, looks after AA accommodation and works in office.
	Rosie Gathirimu Director of Africampers Tours & Safaris in Kenya, and Trustee of Moving Mountains Kenya. Helps run the office in Nairobi.		Jackton Otieno Chief driver and fleet mechanic for all our vehicles in Kenya. Trains all transport staff, guides safaris and private trips.
	Maurice Odindo Africamp and gap year co-ordinator in Western Kenya. Moving Mountains advisor.		Gilbert Njeru Embu representative, looks after our medical and gap clients in eastern Kenya.
	Kenneth Amani Assistant to Otieno for our vehicles and also helps with Africamp. Manages store and all the equipment.		Francis Kioni Africamp leader and project manager for all construction projects in Kenya. Advisor to the Moving Mountains NGO in Kenya. Trains Moving Mountains Community Action Teams.
	Osman Mohammed Safari guide and city guide for Africampers in Kenya. Looks after clients, manages trips and assists in office.		Esther Wanjiru Leader on Africamps, helps in AA accommodation, safari cook, client relations
	Kevin Onyango Assistant accountant in the office and clerk.		Charles Otieno Assistant co-ordinator in Western Kenya for Gap projects, Africamp leader and Moving Mountains advisor.
	Wycliffe Odongo Client relations in western Kenya house, house manager.		Caroline Ngatha Caroline is a qualified nurse and works full time for both Moving Mountains and Adventure Alternative in a medical and advisory capacity. She also look after all medical elective students in Kenya

Tanzania

	Castro Capelo Director of Cappello Tours, our subsidiary in Tanzania. Looks after all our Kilimanjaro climbs and gap or medical clients in Tanzania. Also organises our safaris to Serengeti and Ngorongoro.		Kamanda Guide on Kilimanjaro and also assists in office and with social/domestic affairs of gap students.
	Cornel Mushi Guide on Kilimanjaro, all routes		Lipman Guide on Kilimanjaro.

Nepal

	Ang Chhongba Sherpa Trek sirdar and advisor to Moving Mountains. Also lives in US.		Ang Rita Sherpa Director of High Country, our partner in Nepal. Also manages all gap clients and medical students.
	Pasang Tendi Sherpa Our high altitude guide and trek sirdar. Guides on Everest, and all trekking peaks aswell as treks.		Ang Tshering Sherpa Trek guide
