Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Castro will come and collect you from the Kilimanjaro airport and drive you to the quiet town of Moshi at the base of Kilimanjaro where you can stay at the 3 star Keys Annex hotel which has very comfortable surroundings and a pool.
Day 02: A days Walking Safari in the Wild!
We can depart Moshi at 07:30am and drive to the Arusha park, Momella gate, a distance of about 58km from Moshi Town. After payment and registration, the adventurers start walking and explore the African wilderness on foot. This is a rare opportunity in African parks and reserves. As a small group, accompanied by an armed ranger as guide we go deep into the bush exploring the wilderness. We will travel to many scenic spots, where large herds of buffalo, giraffe, and zebra may be seen. This is the best way of experiencing Arusha Park as we meander through the park, your senses are on full alert and you can feel every breeze on your neck and often your heart in your throat. Around midday we will enjoy a picnic and then walk back to the Momella gate to board/catch our special jeep for an afternoon game drive along Momella lakes on our way to Arusha. The Momella lakes offer plentful bird watching opportunities. We will then have Dinner and overnight at the Massai camp in Arusha.
Day 03:
After breakfast we will drive to Tarangire park. The sheer number of baobabs first captures your eye as we enter Tarangire National Park. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. This park is very spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species have come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire river. In the morning we can enjoy a game drive in the Lake Burungi Circuit. A tour in this area offers you an assurance of seeing large flocks of flamingos and other aquatic birds in lake Burungi as well as an isolated population of oryx resident to the area. We will then have a picnic lunch at noon. After lunch we will proceed with an afternoon game drive along Tarangire River. This game drive along Tarangire River will offer you the opportunity of seeing huge herds of wildebeests, zebras, elephants, impalas, elands and many others animals which have come to the river to drink water. These animals will continue staying in the park until the onset of the rainy season when they start moving out of the park again. Late afternoon drive back to Fig tree camp, Twiga Camp or Kiboko camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04:
After breakfast we drive to Lake Manyara Park. The park is located between the 600m high escarpment of the Rift valley and Lake Manyara. Driving across the valley we can see giraffes and often a variety of other plain dwellers such as wildebeests, Zebras and Ostriches. Further south from the entrance gate, the forest opens up into woodlands, grasslands and swamps, which eventually give way to the Soda Lake itself. At the Southern end of the park are hot sulphur springs called Maji Moto in Swahili. The park is most famous for its tree Climbing lions. We will then enjoy a picnic lunch on the lakeshore with a view of the hippos. During the afternoon we can enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara Park. Then dinner and overnight at the Fig tree, Twiga or Kiboko camp.
Day 05 - 06:
Transfer to Serengeti National Park The park is teaming with stunning wildlife- it is thought that over 3 million large mammals roam the plains. Picnic lunch enroute Game drive in the Serengeti in vast open plains punctuated by rocky outcrops. The extensive grasslands are interspersed with Kopjes - rocky outcrops like islands in the flat plain, each with their own Wildlife communities. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge, Serengeti Sopa Lodge or Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 07:
Sunrise adventure on the way to Lobo. This is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 Zebras flow South from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. Lunch at noon and proceed with afternoon game drive around the Lobo area. Dinner and overnight at Lobo Camp
Day 08:
We will drive to the Ndutu area for a game drive. Thereafter Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will then have dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Simba camp, which is situated at 2200m above sea level, the camp can be cold and we advise you take warm jacket with you for your stay there.
Day 09:
Morning sunrise adventure at the crater floor (home of the big five), the crater hosts an estimated 300,000 animals in it’s basin, including large herds of Buffalo and wildebeest, eland, hartebeest, elephant, hippo, lion, and the endangered black rhino. A picnic at noon followed by an afternoon game drive on the crater floor. Ngorongoro crater the 8th wonder of the world and is widely considered to be one of the most spectacular volcano craters on earth and home to a spectacular concentration of Wildlife. Late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Resort camp, dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Resort camp.
Day 10:
After breakfast we will drive back to Moshi via the snake park.
